I live in a beautiful coastal town north of Boston with my husband and two daughters…a long way from home where I grew up in a small farming community of less than 1,000 people in Eastern Oregon. My family is still there, growing wheat on 3,000 acres of fertile ground near the foothills of the Blue Mountains, a heaven on earth in its own right. I’m a work-at-home mom: a freelance graphic designer, technical illustrator and painter-turned-potter. As for this blog, it was begun mainly with the IC community in mind, from the standpoint of an artist working on healing through the creative process, whether it be painting, writing or making pottery. IC stands for “Interstitial Cystitis”, a painful bladder disease that can take years to untangle the root cause. Meanwhile, managing the associated symptoms can be very difficult at times. The title Breathing Easy comes from my ability to breathe easier these days, thanks to a lot of hard work over the past 10 years, and the help of my family and friends, the women and men on the IC Puzzle message board, and a series of doctors, practitioners, teachers and gifted healers who have fallen in my path along the way. As stated on my first post called Hello World, my intention here is “to shed a positive light on an otherwise devastating condition and to offer hope of recovery to anyone who is willing to look beyond the surface of things and understand the alchemy of certain events in our lives that bring about a new awareness and a change of consciousness of what it means to be a spiritual being living in a physical world.” I hope you enjoy following my journey…

Wonderful! Art is healing. It’s helped me recover from PTSD.
Thank you for sharing this.
My friend sent me the dog dancing, but it never came through. Instead, I’ve enjoyed looking at your website and admiring your artwork. I used to throw at the wheel a zillion years ago and I just think your ceramic pieces are beautiful. Talk about precision in your technique and your glazes are wonderful. Wow! I come from a two-parent (artists) home, so I just love to see artwork. Your other pieces are wonderful, too. Love to see people who stick to their creative path. So wonderful!
