This is a porcelain mug I made especially for my 14-year-old daughter. Mint green and pink are two of her favorite colors, and the carved out feet, polka dots and swirls add a whimsy and playfulness that I still see in her, even though in many ways, she’s not a kid anymore. Children grow up so fast these days, but hopefully my daughter will enjoy this cup for years to come – that is, if she doesn’t break it in the meanwhile.

What a lovely touch with the feet. Gives it another style.
Thanks, Casalba! Carving out feet was one of the things I learned in the class I took this winter. It’s a simple technique, but as you mentioned, can really alter the style of a piece. Bowls look great with carved out feet too.
Very beautiful! I am sure it will be appreciated for many years.
i loved that what thinking your daughter would like inspired you to make! kt
What an unusual, distinctive design…wonderful!
