Dog Dance

March 15, 2008 by Melynn

(Due to the overwhelming response to Tina Humphrey’s Dog Dance, the video has been moved to her newly created blog “Tina and Chandi – The Amazing Dancing Dog” where you can view her wonderful work firsthand, learn more about her and her amazing dog, Chandi, and leave her a comment directly.)

For all you dog lovers out there – this performance was so touching, it brought tears to my eyes. I have watched this video several times, not only to witness an amazing relationship between an animal and a human being, but also to hear the hauntingly beautiful piano solo that accompanies them. I fell in love with the song so much so, that I was compelled to track down and purchase the sheet music. It is called “I Giorni” by Ludovico Einaudi, inspired by a West African 12th-century folk song about a hippo who was loved by the people of the surrounding area but shot and killed by a hunter. Einaudi writes, “The song is sung as a lament for the death of a king or a great person or for the loss of a loved one.” I haven’t touched the piano in years, but I’m hoping I still have the skills to play this one.

They never take their eyes off each other…
A bond in motion. I could watch this over and over again and cry each time.

    Melynn,
That was so easy to watch and get caught up in. I just recently posted about our family dog, and it made me so emotional retelling the story, I realized as I typed how strong my connection has become to this sweet animal that has adopted us as her family. kt

Hi Katy, I’ve been meaning to mention what a great post that was about your dog, and a wonderful photo too.

  4. on March 17, 2008 at 10:44 am kt40

    Thanks Melynn,
I hope you are able to play that song it is so moving. kt

Wow, very cool video, and you’re right Melynn, the piano piece is beautiful, thanks for sharing your find with us:)

  6. on March 17, 2008 at 7:38 pm sperlygirl

this was beautiful. the bond between animals and owner is just so amazing. this little pup looked as if she was smiling up at her partner so often. it was so dear.

  7. on March 17, 2008 at 7:55 pm Colleen

Now that you’ve researched the music and told the story of the folk song I understand exactly why I am moved to tears watching this video. I thought it was the sweetness of the dog’s devotion to his owner but maybe the music is evoking an emotion of loss. I hope that you’ll let me hear you play this piece on the piano. I’ll bring the kleenex!!

  8. on March 18, 2008 at 6:19 pm cathy

That did it! I lost my beloved dog and husband over the past few years and have been yearning for another dog. As soon as I’m settled, that is number one mission before the mop and bucket and tv. Thanks:) Cathy

An absolutely beautiful complement: the bond dance and the accompanying music.

Our pups from the pound have been enriching our lives.

I came across you quite by chance via the wordpress home page. As a dog lover, I just couldn’t pass by a post with the title ‘Dog Dance’ without at least having a peep.

I too was moved and realised why when scrolling down after. Very moving. I’m going to get the music. Thank you for the inspiration.

PS I also love your pottery from the third assignment.

    Hello,

I came across this quite by accident and was amazed to see it was me and my beautiful friend that you were talking about – thank you for your kind comments and enjoying what we do together.

I didn’t know the story behind the music, but cried a bucket load myself when I read that “it is sung for the loss of a loved one” as I had done this routine as a tribute to my Mum who had passed away before she ever got to see it – life never ceases to surprise me.

    Tina and Chandi.

Dear Tina, I can’t believe you found this post, but I’m very glad you did. Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. And thank you for the beautiful, amazing work you do. Not only did your performance cause me to look at my relationship with my dog in a whole new light, it also brought back playing the piano in my life. You (and Chandi, of course!) are a true inspiration and an example of the incredible feats that can be accomplished when we put our hearts and souls into the work we do. Thanks again!

I am still crying! I have such a harmonious relationship with my pups, yet never danced that closely! How VERY special and dear. I will share this with all of the people I know! FABULOUS! Thank you for sharing this lovely dance with me!

so beautiful, it reminds me of my relationship with the LORD Jesus, may i follow, obey and love Him as this dog does his master.

Sent to me by my daughter who knows I appreciate the bond between a dog and a human.

    Thanks Mandy!

  20. on May 18, 2008 at 9:42 pm Wanda Ball

That was a most impressive dance. I don’t know how you did it, but it is something to see. This is an untainted love for each other, for sure. Amazingly wonderful. Thank you for such a beautiful site!

  21. on May 18, 2008 at 11:12 pm Melynn

Yes indeed, Tina Humphrey and her dog, Chandi are simply amazing!

  22. on May 31, 2008 at 12:05 pm Tina and Chandi

    Hello again!

I can’t believe how many people have viewed our video on YouTube thanks to your Blog, Melynn. I am so very touched by the comments that people have made about what we do – we are totally devoted to each other (I don’t know what I did to deserve her love) and I’m glad that that this mutual devotion shines through.
We have another video on YouTube (again not posted by us – we wouldn’t know how!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgWD6F-paE4 not sure if this is OK to post a link, but here goes – feel free to delete it, Melynn – I don’t mean to be cheeky posting it in the first place.

I hope that you did indeed buy the music, Melynn, and are now playing ‘I Giorni’ on your piano – I teach the piano for a living, by the way!

    Thanks again,
    Love and light,
    Tina and Chandi. X

  23. on May 31, 2008 at 12:17 pm Melynn

Hi Tina, thanks for stopping by again, and thanks for leaving the link for another fantastic video of you and Chandi performing. I cannot believe how many people come to my blog now, just to see your video – I get at least 100 visits a day, which has sent my blog stats skyrocketing. I think they are all referrals from others who have seen it, and it goes on and on from there. Quite amazing! A friend of mine told me that anything to do with animals and pets are some of the most popular things people search for on Google. Goes to show how animals are such an amazing gift to our lives.

  24. on May 31, 2008 at 1:39 pm Tina and Chandi

Just took a look at the stats on the YouTube video – I’ve had 5195 visits from your site alone – quite awesome. Thank you for liking us in the first place.

    Love,
    Tina and Chandi. X

  25. on June 8, 2008 at 3:32 am jim & debra reyes

Awesome and special to witness, yes we are dog lovers and appreciate the gift that animals bring to us humans who we feel are superior to ourselves as supposedly as a superior being. We loved this special event, why hasn’t this been exposed to other media? It deserves to be shared thru-out all media! We loved it!

  26. on June 12, 2008 at 1:58 am Meri Jones

Fabulous! So inspiring! We rescued a black lab when she was a year and a 1/2. She was out of control and insecure about receiving affection and two years later she’s amazing – golfs with us – goes to our favorite outdoor restaurants – hikes with us through the trails of Northern Michigan. She went from not even knowing how to play to being quite the area favorite (more people say hi to her than to us!). She’s such a happy girl. BUT – to share that kind of bond – very cool. I read a wonderful book recently – Merle’s Door by Ted Kerasote – about an amazing dog and the bond he shares with his human. They dance together – but most likely not like Tina & Chandi! (Probably more like how I dance with Shadow, holding her paws up and singing to Abba – poor girl!) I’d love to see more videos of Tina and Chandi! Thanks for sharing, Meri

  27. on June 12, 2008 at 4:48 pm Ramona Rhode

Please tell me how to get the sheet music. I would love to be able to play it as well.

I believe that is the most beautifully choreographed dance I have ever seen.

  28. on June 12, 2008 at 6:53 pm Melynn

Hi Ramona, I finally found the sheet music for I Giorni at: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com in a collection called,”The Best of Ludovico Einaudi. I couldn’t find the sheet music anywhere but in this collection along with some other great songs by the same composer. When you go to the site, just search for Ludovico Einaudi and you’ll find it. Good luck!

    Tina, Chandi, and Melynn,

Thank you for sharing such an amazing relationship, dance, and posting the video. It did bring tears to my eyes, a smile in my heart, and made me think of what incredible companions dogs/pets are to us, especially in times of unexpressable loss. Chandi is a gift. Tina, I do believe your Mum is smiling from heaven and is your and Chandi’s angel guardian. God bless you all!

I am so amazed by this and speechless. I have done a little dog training, but nothing that can even come close to touching this. WOW!!! The bond between the lady and her dog is absolutely incredible. Thank you for letting us see this incredible video.

    UNCONDITIONAL LOVE !!!!!!

  34. on July 29, 2008 at 8:22 pm karen olson

This confirms what I have always intuitively known: that no love, except God’s, is greater than that of a dog for its master. I have experienced that love and trust several times in my long life, and I still morn my canines’ passings.

  35. on July 30, 2008 at 11:37 pm terrie mershon

I had been badly bitten by a large dog and was subsequently very, very afraid of dogs (all dogs–every dog) until I met Buffy (a true little person in a dog’s body) who belonged to a close friend. Buffy is no longer with us and I was sent this email from her loving companion for many years. I still cry—going from fearing dogs to loving Buffy is an impossible leap but only because she was who she was–so dear, so wise, so smart, so loving, such a beautiful spirit. This is a testamonial to Buffy through your wonderful video—thank you so very much.

  36. on August 7, 2008 at 2:48 am Joanne

Thank you so much for allowing this video to be shown. The beauty of the music and the bond between the two is evident in every move they make. Please, Please show this video again or tell me where I could purchase a copy of it. I want to share it with everyone that I know.

thank you for the sweet sweet video of your dog and the shing beauty that the dance has shown, we have a cocker spaniel we got from the pound and he will never be like that but his beauty shines from with in his heart for us . thank you again tears still in my eyes from the losses in my life for all the years.you have brought us a chance to total love human to animal and back, what a treasure this is for all to see, thank you again. donald and diane and our love dudley

  38. on August 7, 2008 at 7:20 pm Faye Sellis

It was a beautiful performance by two different creations,
which was a human being along with a dog. It was awsome to see the two paired together together. Their
dancing, which was always insinct created such a joyful mood. They both together are truly gifted.

  39. on August 8, 2008 at 1:26 pm Cathy

This video is incredibly moving. I lost my best friend a month ago after 10 years together. He was 185 lb Saint Bernard and rather a clod not very good at dancing but his love was unconditional as the love between this woman and her dog. I will miss him everyday of my life and this video is a beautiful reminder of what we shared. Thank you, thank you…….

  40. on August 9, 2008 at 4:26 am Amy

    Just Fantastic. An absolute marvel.

  41. on August 14, 2008 at 3:58 pm Janie

My dogs dance in my heart each day. Both strays that were found in the streets. Would not take a million for either one of them.

  42. on August 14, 2008 at 4:17 pm Milos

I’ve seen human/dog dances that were full of fancy tricks and fast stepping, and I have no doubt this pair could have wowed us with great feats if they’d wanted. But how much more profound and meaningful is this simple display of communication and love between two species. In our relationships with dogs, we provide for their welfare, but they give us so much more in return.

  43. on August 21, 2008 at 11:56 pm Mary Hicks

I just lost the 6th of my 9 aging rescued dogs. The beautiful dance by Tina and Chandi was absolutely awesome. It moved me to tears, while at the same time, gave me comfort. I wish I could find a copy somewhere. Thank you so much.

  44. on August 22, 2008 at 1:15 am Elen

My husband sent the link to this a week ago and has asked me every night if I had watched the video. I kept forgetting to but he didn’t let up on asking.

I finally watched it 15 mins ago and am now wondering why the heck I waited a week. I’ve watched it three times now.

Thank you so much for sharing it.

To Tina and Chandi, thank you both for so generously sharing your bond with the world. I just hugged my dog tightly and she responded with slobbery kisses.

  45. on August 28, 2008 at 12:26 am Natalie

I was very impressed and inspired. Amazing what love and patience can achieve.

  46. on August 28, 2008 at 2:57 pm Patricia

I was sent this link by a friend and it’s so touching. The love between the two shows the world that nothing is impossible. Animals give such innocent and pure love. Thank you Tina and Chandi for sharing such a beautiful dance. I thank everyone out there for being animal lovers and helping those in need.

  47. on September 9, 2008 at 1:45 am Mike

I was moved to tears at the dog’s devotion to his master and I sadly saw the day when she will bury that magnificent friend and the unbearable loss the master will experience.

  48. on September 9, 2008 at 4:13 am Tim

Awesome! My wife found this and shared it with me. No words are needed! I am amazed at how much love and affection is demostrated between Tina and Chandi. The music is an un-needed bonus that contributes to the whole routine. Thank you Melynn for sharing your find with all of us. I pray that God will bless You, Melynn & Tina, throughout the rest of your lives. P.S.: and if there is a dog heaven, I’m sure there is a place for Chandi because of her love and devotion for you Tina.

The dog dance and art display was incredible.

This was just what I needed this morning. Watching that kind of connection along with the beautiful music absolutely soothed my soul.

  52. on September 13, 2008 at 12:05 am Felicia and Lacy

Wow! I loved the video of Tina and Chandi! I, too, feel an incredible bond between Lacy and me. I danced for years and have recently been hearing about dog dancing. Lacy already has a mean hip sway…maybe some doggie salsa in our future? I’d love to find out about how to get started in this sport…I’m sure Lacy would enjoy it as well…she’s a natural athlete! We live in Truckee (near Lake Tahoe, Ca) so if anyone knows about classes in the area….

Again…loved the video (which was emailed by a friend who is NOT a dog person! She had to have been impressed if not touched by it).

Love and light from Lacy and her person, Felicia

Thank you for that beautiful dance. My beloved Golden is dying of cancer at the age of 5, and too soon our own bond will be severed. Perhaps we’ll find each other again someday and dance in our own way.

I just had to stop by again and read all the beautiful comments that have been left here. I am grateful for each and every one and the things that have been written about my beautiful dog have brought tears to my eyes. I am so glad that the love we share (and it really is love) shines through.
    Thank you!

    Love,

I would love to see Tina and Chandi doing the star routine at Crufts in the big ring.
Their routine is not only very polished, but you can see
there is a lot of love in that partnership.
Wonderful routine, lovely costume. You’ve come so
    far Tina and Chandi.

    Well done

as a dressage rider i can say just how hard it is to teach those movements to a horse, who’s alot more naturally able to do them than a dog. I can’t imagine teaaching a dog to do half-passes and one-tempis…my horse and i definitely aren’t there yet! very inspiring not only to dog people but to horse people too.

  65. on September 18, 2008 at 12:28 pm Cathy Santarsiero

  71. on September 23, 2008 at 2:58 am John Davidson

My Mom passed away this summer, she loved dogs in fact she had 12 of them, one she rescued in the last 2 weeks of her life. Last year she attended the Westminster dog show and she also owned a horse and was made an honorary Kentucky Colonel. We had a great relationship and she believed in Jesus so I know she is in heaven but I miss her so much. She would have loved this performance, we often shared things like this through the e-mail. I wish I could send this to her but I can’t. I have shared this with the rest of my family and we all cry especially with such beautiful music and the meaning behind the song. She was a King in her own way, beautiful and a great Mom. I am so proud to have been her son. Thanks for sharing this and I Love you Mom.

  72. on September 23, 2008 at 11:24 am Melynn

Thank you, John, for such a lovely comment. And thanks to everyone else who has come here to see Tina and Chandi’s performance! I’ve really enjoyed reading your comments, and I know Tina has too.

  73. on September 25, 2008 at 4:17 am lydie

you must be a dressage rider, not only because of the outfit but also the movement that you touch your dog, passage, side pass, pirouette, volte, tempy changes etc…it was beautiful.

  74. on September 25, 2008 at 3:49 pm Leanne

Oh My God!! That is the most touching video of human and dog I have ever seen. Ten times watched and sent to everyone on my email list. I cried every time, but as a owner for four dogs, I cried when they all got skunked. You don’t have to be a dog lover to watch this video.

  75. on September 28, 2008 at 5:37 pm Anna

Watching this video reminds of the connection I had with my 13 year old Alaskan Malamute Nicki. I swear he could read my thoughts. My boy passed away on July 4 of this year. The bond between trainer and dog is magical.Thank you for sharing this masterpiece.

  76. on September 28, 2008 at 7:08 pm CJ

I rec’d this in an email from a friend who knows how much I love dogs. I share my life with 3 I rescued from Death Row. I am still sniffling 10 mins after watching this beautiful video. I was surprised that I was crying… it was just so touching that I couldn’t catch my breathe for a few minutes. My trainer says that dogs cannot love, that they show respect and loyalty, I have always disputed that. Now I know he is wrong. If ever I saw love it is what Chandi and Tina show for EACH OTHER. What an awesome dog you share your life with and it is wonderful the joy you bring to her…. she is obviously so happy dancing with you.

  77. on September 28, 2008 at 9:26 pm Halen In Michigan

Wow, I am amazed and pleased to see your lovely dance. Love the music. Should have kept up with the piano, the music is wonderfull

  78. on September 29, 2008 at 1:08 pm jan

Utterly amazing if only all the people who ill treated and abandoned dogs here in Brazil could see this maybe they would realise that these wonderful creatures are truly our best friends. It has taken me two months to teach a new puppy here to sit, lie down, wait, etc. ect…. Although with thirteen rescue dogs I don’t have that much time.

  79. on September 29, 2008 at 9:43 pm Carole

Just amazing! Unbelievable training and devotion and loyalty between trainer and dog!

  80. on September 30, 2008 at 2:51 am Carol Sansone

My granddaughters (7 & 9) will be here in a few, and I can hardly wait for them to see Chandi, the dancing dog and, of course, her partner. The girls love all animals and I think they will probably try to teach Sarah Christina (Boxer) how to dance. Sarah does anything they want and loves to run madly around, to entertain them; the more they laugh, the sillier she becomes. Thank you Tina and Chandi for sharing your love and talent.

  81. on September 30, 2008 at 9:06 pm Dorothy

I was never so moved to tears by the sight of owner and animal. AMAZING is the only word I can come up with. Thank you for sharing this.

  82. on October 1, 2008 at 7:34 pm Rosa Maria

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought it was so beautiful that I almost cried. I did not cry because I was amazed at the dog’s willingness and interest in his trainer. He was having fun out there. What a pleasure to witness. It is great to have loyal souls in our lives who get so excited every time they see you.

Nothing I could say/write could do justice to this teams freestyle and choice of music. I’ve trained both horses and dogs, and this performance was truly exceptional!

    Poignant…Lovely…Graceful!

Jehovah gave us the incredible responsibility to be caretakers of this earth…dogs make that responsibility a true gift!

Lovvvvvvvvvvve it.. how can we learn to do that with our dogs ?

  86. on October 2, 2008 at 9:19 pm Karen

WOW!!!! What a beautiful connection that those two had with each other. They were obviously in love with each other…as far as human and animal can be. I am lucky enough to share that same kind of love and bonding and connection with my Golden Retriever that I rescued from an abusive home. He never takes his eyes off of me and I’m usually checking out what he’s doing, too. The music told me the story before I even read what it was. Magnificent post.

Truly a love story in motion! Thank you for sharing.

Fantastic – I could feel the love between the 2 of them. I got the feeling of SOUL SPIRITS, such a close relationship. I get the same kind of Loving look from my dog Raja and it really touches my heart. Raja is a Border Collie & Springer Spaniel mix, and is 7 years old. Thanx for sharing with all of us.

  89. on October 3, 2008 at 12:26 pm Pat Igney

This was wonderful. I wish Ellen TV show is the US could see it. Then more people could see this amazing relationship.

  90. on October 3, 2008 at 1:28 pm Sandra

I can’t stop crying. I have a rescue dog who is so damaged that after 2 years, she is still even fearful of me. I mourn for the dog/human relationship that we will never have because of what other people must have done to this dog.

    Truly inspiring video…still crying!!!

  91. on October 3, 2008 at 7:47 pm Terri

Wow…this was awe-inspiring…the bond between dog and human is complete and natural. No special effects, or CGI…just LOVE! Thank You!

  92. on October 6, 2008 at 5:44 pm MaryGB

What a lovely interlude –especially on the heels (NPI) of the feast of St. Francis!
This dance is an awesome reminder of the window that the animal kingdom gives us to the grace of God, and that these precious pets are truly man’s best friend!!
    How lucky we are!

If only I could dance with my God in heaven with that precision while here on earth… One of the most beautiful pieces I have seen. Thank you for letting me live through this display of love. I do praise Him that God doesn’t require this of me, though.

Incredibly touching tribute to a dog’s trust, love, and loyalty.

Every dog I’ve owned has taught me new life lessons.

I am an animal lover and I have two cats. Unfortunately, they are too independant to be able to do what I just saw. My Mom has been gone just a few short years and I know the pain. Right about the same time I lost my cat Casper and it took a long time before I could think about another. Then the first day I went looking I walked in and the first cat that I saw was Snowy a complete look a like to Casper. Oddly he has some of the same personality that Casper had.

What a beautiful bond between an animal and a human being. What bliss to dance with your angel baby to such a beautiful lament. Knowing the history of the song makes it even more heart touching and I just think the whole thing is complete bliss. Hopefully I can save the video I want to put it on my Zen mp3 player. I watched in awe and applauded when it was done eventhough the kitties didn’t have a clue as to what I was applauding. I’m a bit under the weather and it lifted my spirits. I wish I had been at the competition. Absolutely stunning!

  104. on October 26, 2008 at 4:25 pm Martha

What a joy to watch such beauty and togetherness. One can easily see the deep love Tina and her dog have for each other. To me it is the beginning of what we will know forever in the life to come – where we will be a peace with all animals and will be joined with them – all those precious little and big creatures. What a Blessing they have been given to experience that in this existence.

  105. on October 26, 2008 at 4:59 pm Suzanne

Yes, words fail. Thank you … I cannot stop watching as it pulls me toward something deep and significant. A reminder we all need in these troubled times, of the beauty and simplicity of love.

Thank you Tina, Chandi and Merlynn.

Suzanne, Imagine finding your post just before mine I guess your post was still being evaluated when I left mine. Thank you for sending this wonderful experiance into my life. For everyone else—Suzanne is the one that sent dog-dance to me.

  107. on October 26, 2008 at 8:45 pm Samuel C

Sam here again. After visiting breathingeasy last night I tried to research and find a copy of I Giorni. I don’t play an insturment and I can’t sing so, I tried to find a copy of I Giorni on CD or that I could down load. I found it at http://www.last.fm on a CD. I am assuming that it is the one that was used in dog-dance but, I don’t know. However, you can buy the CD containing the song on piano. I was delighted to find it along with many other songs on the CD. So, I’m going to leave the info here for others that are interested. Just go to http://www.last.fm and search the song I Giorni. It will bring up the CD with all of the traks on the album and you can listen to them. last.fm did not have the background on the song so I supplied them with what I learned from my experiance with dog-dance.

  108. on October 26, 2008 at 9:04 pm Melynn

Thanks for the info, Sam… I’m going to look into that CD.

  109. on October 27, 2008 at 4:50 am Helen

My good friend sent me the link to this video, and OH my goodness! I don’t think there is anything better or more worth watching on all of YouTube!!! Tina and Chandi, your dance is heart-warming and wonderful, your bond so amazing! And Melynn, thank you for posting their video for the rest of us to find. It has totally made my day.

  110. on October 27, 2008 at 8:13 pm Nancy from NC

can someone (more clever than I) send this to “Dancing With The Stars”? it would be a real display of partnership and harmony for others to follow.

  111. on October 27, 2008 at 10:32 pm Phyllis

I loved the dog dance which reminded me how much and why I loved my dogs so much.

  112. on October 27, 2008 at 10:34 pm Angie

That was the most amazing piece with dog and human, how could anyone not fall in love with this, along with the most amazing piece of music that flowed with them. It brought tears to my eyes.

It takes a special bond between both “companions” to forge such commitment. A moving and truely inspirational view. Thanks Aunt Meda for thinking of me and Chester.

    Simply wonderful….!!!

  115. on November 3, 2008 at 4:38 am Potato Richardson

Your dog looks like a Australian Shepard. I have had them for years and I cannot imagine a finer dog to have as a companion. I to have been blessed with great dogs as well as great horses.

  116. on November 3, 2008 at 5:59 am ijusth

I can’t imagine how long it took to get those steps perfected. The Crofts link is something everyone needs to check out. The music isn’t as inspiring but the steps are better. Truly wonderful.

  117. on November 3, 2008 at 4:53 pm Sue Keenan

Please let me know where you found the sheet music for this very moving piano solo. I’ve been looking high and low (but apparently not high or low enough) and would be truly grateful if you could point me in the right direction. I, too, have watched this video repeatedly (teary-eyed), both for the incredible beauty of the dance and the music.

    Sue Keenan

  118. on November 3, 2008 at 4:58 pm Melynn

Hi Sue, I found the sheet music for I Giorni at: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com in a collection called,”The Best of Ludovico Einaudi.” When you go to the site, just search for Ludovico Einaudi and you’ll find it. Good luck!

I loved Chandi and your dance video. It was an emotional event for me. We lost our beloved Buddy five years ago and it reminded me of our close bond with him and how much we miss him and loved him. He was a wonderful companion and friend.

  121. on November 4, 2008 at 4:02 am Lee Neill

Dear Tina – It’s so wonderful to see the mutual admiration you and Chandi demonstrated in the video. My only worry was that Chandi’s neck would get tired from constantly looking up to follow your every move! I love Aussies and Borders, and it is so terrific to see a dog whose need to serve has been understood and respected. I’ve seen too many of these dogs who were purchased “for my active children” only to be put up for adoption after a few months because they “wouldn’t behave.” Your example of a relationship based on your thoughtful observation and loving structure demonstrates just what real loving interaction can achieve. Thank you! Thank you! Lee Neill (and Spirit – he’s a std. poodle & a therapy dog)

A guy wouldn’t stand a chance with her….LOL! Great video!

Your dog looks exactly like my Aussie named Cherokee! They are amazing pups and this video truly captures their undying devotion and intelligence. It was beautiful to watch.

  124. on November 5, 2008 at 12:32 pm Sammie

A dear friend forwarded this amazing video to me, it touched my soul, I can’t wait to leave work and go home to my dogs Sam, Lucy, John Harley and Daisy and give them all a big hug, it is so wonderful to see such devotion between Tina and Chandi.

Your dedication and expression of love was inspiring…thanks:)

  126. on November 7, 2008 at 3:16 pm Jennifer Moore

I absolutely loved this video. While I do not know how long ago this was done – I am very interested in knowing if anyone was able to find the sheet music to the piano solo.
    Thanks for your help!

  128. on November 8, 2008 at 7:21 am Betty M.

I watched the video and listen to the music and i thought it was truly amazing. It makes me miss my dog i lost a few years back. She wasn’t even my dog to begin with I inherited her when my father died and i got so attached to her i cried for days when she passed. didn’t ever want another pet..but things change when i took in a cat of all things..lol but thanks for this video and helping me to remember my own sweet dog named Susie II.

What a beautiful Dressage Grand Prix Musical Freestyle–except with a dog as a partner, rather than a horse!!!
